Never say Never to Nevaeh

Good morning lovely people Linda here, and firstly let me apologise for the awful pun of a title, I'm sorry I just couldn't resist!

Rightyho then, on to my share for today, which is scheduled since I'm back at work this week ...BOO!...but have the day off tomorrow for New Years Day...YAY!.

Originally when I started this project it was going to be a Thank You card, as I'm sure that lots of us have some of those to send out to say thank you for lovely Christmas gifts, but it ended up looking so spring like I thought I'd make it non specific as it could as easily be used as a Mother's Day or Easter card as a Thank You card.

I really love the way this one turned out so I do hope you like it, I've added links to items used at the end of the post.

I was totally inspired by this Maja Design Paper, isn't it gorgeous?  I nearly hyperventilated cutting into it lol.

This beautiful young lady is a Saturated Canary stamp by the talented Krista Smith and is called Nevaeh, hence the horrible pun :) I think she may be my most favourite Saturated Canary stamp ever, isn't she pretty? Colours are on my blog for those who want to know which ones I used.

I decorated the inside too to complement the front.

I do hope that you have a lovely New Years Eve, I'm hoping that next year will be a little kinder to me and mine than this one has been as 2013 has been a little hard on us for some things, particularly my Dad's health so hopefully it's onwards and upwards for this year coming.
Take care and I'll see you all in 2014

Linda  :) xx

Needle box

Hey lovelies, I hope you have all had a great Christmas. Jen here with a little inspiration for today. I wanted to make a little box up to store all the needles and bits in my craft room. So I thought I would use some lush Pion papers in my DT kit :)

Its only very small box, but I wanted it to be pretty. I used Blue Fabric, Alma's sewing room papers for the box sides, and cut out a couple of the adds from the sewing collage paper. I used a little distress ink for the edges and a few flowers super simple, and now I can find all my needles :)

Thanks for popping in, have a great day all. xxx

Sweet Baby

Morning everyone, it's Linda here on Christmas Eve, are we all excited?!  I am.  The tree went up and is all decorated and when that happens it really starts to feel like Christmas for me, I always have a real one so can't put it up too early, and this year I was ill so even later, but the smell in my front room now is just divine :)

Anyway, enough ramblings from me, and on to my share for today.  I thought you would all have enough Christmas going on, so instead of sharing a Christmas card with you I have a new baby card, cos whatever time of year it is babies are happening right?

I didn't have a lot of time, due to all the Christmas prep still to be done, so for once (and this is very rare for me) I didn't use a stamp, to save time on the colouring. Luckily I received these gorgeous Pion papers in my DT box and the beauty is they have an image with them that you can use instead of stamping one (great if you're in a hurry or you don't have a suitable stamp or you don't enjoy colouring etc) Links to products are at the end of the post.

I do apologise for the quality of the photos, the light is awful today and batteries low on the camera and no time to faff lol.   You possibly can't see in this photo but behind the printed flowers at the top and left, there is music, I thought my new La La Lands die would go perfectly with this.  The Whimsy die used to cut the sentiment actually has 2 little slots cut out so that you can slide it on some ribbon, but I didn't have any ribbon that went well enough with this so I popped a couple of small roses on to disguise them.

The inside is finished very simply, with another piece of the paper (I didn't even use the whole of a 12 x 12 sheet for this card)  the printed papers are on the other top corner, and a little wooden rocking horse.

Right I'm off to finish last minute preparations, don't forget my Candy will be drawn at midnight tonight so you still have a few hours to get your entries in, there's actually not many takers so you have a good chance of winning!  Enjoy your Christmas everyone and I'll see you again next week! :) xx

Joy to the world!!!

Papers- Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas.

Morning everyone!!

I hope you have all had wonderful weekends. I had some crafty time all to myself on sunday afternoon and I enjoyed every minute of it making this little card.

There is something magical about white ink stamped on kraft card, I just love the look of it. The gingerbread house on the MFT Sweet christmas stamp set is just perfect for that christmassy feel, luckily there are some super sweet sentiments on the set to go with it so I made another tag to pop the sentiment on.

And oh my, those pierced tags stax are just soooo delicious to use, the little holes are so cute and they cut like butter, oooooh they are just so scrummy!!
Some stroke only papers and gorgeous polka dotted ribbon just finished it off.

Have a magical monday peeps!
Huge hugs Lou xxx

The little blingy sparkle  is from Prima and I have added some bits of trim to finish it off!  Oh and you gotta have a Snowflake charm!

Plentiful Petals to say Thank You

Hello Everyone.
I hope you are well and having a good weekend.

I decided to make a simple thank you card using a fabulous Die-Versions Die along the top edge of my card. I placed the die over the fold thus cutting through both layers of the card but leaving the top intact.
The gorgeous flowers are Die-Namics Plentiful Petals which I have shaped slightly with an embossing tool.

Money Pocket

Hello there, Michelle here. Today I have my last Christmas craft project to share with you. I have made a money wallet/pocket for my brother. I have taken a sheet of white cardstock and scored and folded it to make the pocket. I have then die cut the MFT Let It Snowflake Die-Namics (still loving these!) using three shades of blue Bazzill Basics cardstock - Stonewash, Typhoon and Admiral and added these to the front of the pocket using liquid glue. I have then die cut the 'Merry Christmas' using the MFT Christmas Greetings Die-Namics from white cardstock and added this to the pocket with 3D foam pads.

Thank you so much for visiting the DTDF Blog today, I hope all your Christmas preparations are going well.

Two Turtle Doves

Good afternoon everyone Ann-Marie popping in today.  Well I am still creating Christmas cards but I am on my last 'special' cards now.  I have made one of my favourite card designs too - a criss cross card, just love them.

I have used these absolutely gorgeous Maja Design 'Vintage Winter' papers and oh my I did so hyperventilate cutting into these beauties.  For my image I chose 'Two Turtle Doves' from Whimsy Stamps.

I trimmed the edges of the criss cross with some gorgeous lace with pearl centre, added some Stickles for the snow in my image and for the falling snow I used some liquid pearls.  The inside sleeve is decorated quite plainly I just added a sentiment and stamped another image in the bottom corner and also cut out a Cheery Lynn Frame cut it in half and used that for the pull out tab.

Okay that's all from me today, thank you for taking the time to pop in.

Take care,

Vintage Happily Ever After

Happy Tuesday everyone, it's Linda here to share my latest make with you. I've had the dreaded bug that's been going around this weekend, so instead of doing my Christmas shopping I was stuck at home feeling very sorry for myself, but at least I got to craft when I started to feel a little better.

I'm all Christmased out at the mo when it comes to making cards, so I rummaged through my DT box and found these gorgeous Maja Vintage Autumn Basics papers which totally inspired me to make something monochrome and vintage.  I've added links to the products at the end of the post except for the papers, I discovered they weren't on the website, Tracy does have these in stock but she's been super busy so you may have to wait till after the Christmas holidays to see them appear, when they do you should be able to find them with the other Vintage Autumn Basics here.

I really like how this turned out, I thought it would be ideal as an anniversary card, but you could just as easily use it for a valentine, wedding or engagement card, or just to say 'I love you'. The little banners are just cut from the decorative border on the bottom of the paper, I just decorated with some little spots of liquid pearls and popped them up on some foam. Love that Clock die from Cherry Lyn, see it's useful for so much more than just steampunk cards!

I used one of my all time favourite Tiddly Inks stamps, Happily Ever After', love this, it's so versatile for anything coupley. The papers worked so fabulously together I thought I'd paper piece them, though I should have paid more attention and got more of the roses on her dress instead of the leaves lol.  Paper piecing is great for using up scraps and also helps if you're not too confident with your colouring skills.

Inside you can see the paper I used on her dress, with all the roses this time!

If you prefer more colour, you can always use coloured embellishments, or use the coloured papers from the range (or one of the other Maja Vintage Basics ranges that Tracy stocks, they'd work just as well.

That's it from me today, hope you like it and that Christmas doesn't have you too wiped out.  Don't forget to drop by my blog for a chance to win a £15 Dies to Die for voucher, it's open till Christmas eve :) xx
