April Sunshine

Happy Sunday!

My card today features Little Cottage Cuties April Sunshine by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps, and after the dreadful wet couple of weeks we have had I thought this stamp was rather apt!

bev-rochester-cottage-cuties-april-sunshine

The beautiful paper is by Maja Design and is new in stock at Dies to Die For!! The darling little birdhouse is a Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Bird and Cage set.  Tracy has been busy all week uploading all the Tim Holtz dies (guess who is a very happy girl) Smile

Fairy Dust is a Must!

Hi all! It's my turn to post on the blog today, so I thought I would share this mega cute Greeting Farm card. These stamps come as a set and are slightly smaller than TGF's standard stamps. The beauty of this is that you can fit multiple images on your card! It's great as you can get loads of different looks, all from one set.

I'm not sure if you can see from this picture, but I used Glossy Accents on the wings and mounted everything on glittery white card - essential for that fairy dust feel! I also did something I hardly ever do... I mixed papers from 3 totally different paper collections. I know, life on the edge...!

I've popped all the links below for you to make it nice and easy to find everything in the DTDF shop.

Happy weekend everyone!

I have taken the Sweet November Jilly's Candle image and stamped her out with memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I have coloured her with Copic Markers, cut out and added her to the base with 3D foam. The base is two sheets from the Echo Park Country Drive 12x12 Collection. I have wrapped this around with Divine Twine and attached with a button. I have stamped the greeting out and cut it using an MFT Die-Namics Mini Tabs Foursome Die - I love these!

Best Dad Ever

Hello lovely ones! Can't believe that it is a week since I last posted on the DTDF blog! Isn't time flying? I have to say though, who else is sick of this flipping weather? Not only does it get you soaked and make you miserable, it also completely prevents you from taking any good pictures of your cards....grr!!!

Even still, hope you like this card I made for my Dad, for Father's Day. I know, I know, it is the first time I've been this organised in my life, but this MFT set is just PERFECT for fathers day. Not only do you get the rosette dies, you get masses of stamps to allow you to personalize it for whoever you want. I just wish I had added a little star in a colour behind the creamy brown 'Dad' ribbon, but I guess I can do that for the next card I make using this set.

Make sure you click the links below to be taken straight to the fab MFT set and the totally gorgeous Echo Park papers in the shop.

Big hugs,

Vivienne Butterfly

Hi all, for my card today I am sharing my card that I made for the new Die-Ing For A Challenge, we have another great challenge for you, this time a sketch designed by little 'ole me.

I have taken some 7 Dots Studio All I Ever - Velveteen Dream paper and added it to a white card blank. I have then taken a strip of the All I Ever - Peaceful Place paper from the same collection and added this on top. I have die cut a white circle using a Nestabilities circle die and added this to the base. I have then taken the All I Ever - Peaceful Place paper and run this through my Cuttlebug using the Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly die. I have added this to the circle with liquid glue. The sentiment from the Wild Rose Studio Cute Greetings stamp set (which I have just found out has sadly been discontinued) using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Bo Bunny Sophie iCandy Jewels added to the top to finish.

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you can play along with our challenge.

Wee Amy

Hello!  My turn to post on the DT blog today and I thought I would share a new card I made yesterday.   I am loving these new stamps from Whimsy, and Amy is no exception.

bev-rochester-whimsy-amy

I have used those sublime The Scrapcake papers The Bright Side of Life, aren’t they just out of this world?!?  I swiped the edges of the papers with Picket Fence Distress Stain and inked with Walnut Stain distress ink before matting onto Bazzill cardstock and machine stitching.

The sentiment is also Whimsy, they are the Celebration Circle Pennants but silly me forgot to order the matching die at the time so had to substitute with a SB die till it arrives.

Lost & Found Two...

Here is a card featuring stamps and papers from the My Minds Eye Lost and Found Two Blush collection. To create the main image I have took a butterfly die-cut which I used to mask of the area I didn't want to stamp in. Then I took the stamps from the Blush collection (currently out of stock, but this technique will work with any of these types of sets) and stamped around the edge of the mask, and once I had gone all around, but before I lifted the mask of I took some cut "n" dry and rubbed the black ink around the mask to define the shape a little more. When stamping around the mask, stamp off the page first to soften the ink...I did some a couple of times to make them appear softer...and even stamped straight to make it darker...

Ingredients Stamps - My Minds Eye Lost & Found Two Blush
Ink - Versafine Oynx Black & Versamagic Java Brown chalk ink
Papers - My Minds Eye Lost & Found Two Blush
Cardstock - Bazzill Kraft
Punches - Tag & Martha Stewart butterfly
Embellishments - pearl bling, grosgrain ribbon, Stickles diamond

I hope you have enjoyed seeing something other than colouring from me...and remember that if the stamps I used are not in stock....you can use this technique with any other set...and whatever shape mask you like....you can make your own.
